VISION

"Once a vision of Education Technology use is established, school leadership needs to model that approach, enact rituals and practices to reinforce it, and lend a coherent voice leading the entire community in a fashion consistent with its vision to improve the lives of young people." - (Stager, 2015)

The purpose of Education Technology is as follows:

  • To encourage academic achievement and student involvement
  • To enhance evaluation procedures with immediate feedback
  • To support the development of the 4Cs (collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking) abilities in a student-centered classroom
  • To improve teaching and learning outcomes, encourage the use of technology in content pedagogy
  • To give students the knowledge and abilities they will need to succeed in a digital workforce
A vision cannot be created without the input of all stakeholders. The implementation and application of the goals of the digital strategy depend on this inclusion. As a result, a needs assessment was carried out, in which questions were asked of different participants and their answers were examined. These participants consisted of:
  • Teachers
  • Students
  • Parents
  • Board of Management

To prepare LVS students for life and work in the twenty-first century, the school administrator understands the importance of integrating ICT into teaching and learning. Therefore, the following summarises our vision for the ensuing three years:

"Lester Vaughan School focuses on providing a fully supported technological learning environment, ensuring that digital technologies are embedded in the school's teaching, learning, and assessment practises so that our students and teachers can maximise their potential through digital technology."
