4 STEPS TO DRIVING A SUCCESSFUL DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
STEP1: Implement effective teacher and administrator professional development
As it relates to using technology, I know that many of my colleagues are at significantly different points in their careers. Hence, the demands of the digital novice and the digital native must be met by flexible professional development. In order for instructors to share knowledge with one another, mentoring and collaboration should be incorporated into the structure of professional development. Additionally, in order to better support their teachers, administrators must receive rigorous training in digital programmes.
STEP 2: WHEN DETERMINING THE NEEDS AND STRENGTHS OF STUDENTS, BE REALISTIC
The majority of my students are inherently more tech-savvy than I am.
However, I should never assume that my tech-savvy students are adept at using
it to further their academic endeavours. This is a skill that I must teach to
students. I sometimes feel that a student's propensity to become distracted
while using technology indicates a lack of drive, but in reality, it only
indicates that the student needs more guidance. I must therefore encourage an
atmosphere of reciprocal support so that educators and students can benefit
from one another.
STEP 3: USE YOUR MONEY CAREFULLY
For the past fifteen years, I have seen thousands of dollars being wasted by my school administrators on the
latest, greatest technological project without any thought to the final result.
I must therefore identify clear learning objectives and tie each expense to
them.
STEP 4: PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF LEARNING RESULTS
Observe data
or student work that demonstrates improvement as a result of technology
utilisation. Test results, observations in the classroom, and student portfolios
can all be utilised to show progress and achievement. Think about whether or
not new technology has affected these outcomes.
